This post is entirely dedicated to beginners! Obviously getting used to a new activity in your daily life is interesting and you would want to make sure you know what your doing in order to not look like a fool. Well, you will eventually look back and be like, "ohh yeah I was doing that so wrong!" I would know from experience! Anyway, just like the title, the beginning is always the hardest and that's what could motivated you!
To begin, you just have to start with something your familiar in, something your very good at. That is because you will learn a little about how things work at the gym. Everything will take its time. Once you decide on your strengths, find something you want to improve upon, and start moving in that direction. Example: you don't have any arm muscles. You will work out your biceps, then triceps, then your shoulders. It is the beginning, and nothing will be perfect, but there will be plenty of time for adjustments later. It is a fun environment at the gym. I find that it is a very motivating place to be, and once you see others, it will keep you going.
In fact, the most important thing for a beginner is to keep going! Most of the time, they think that they are not seeing any results and their reaction is going in the wrong direction, giving up. But it's just the beginning, you will obviously not see amazing results in the first week you attend the gym.
They should always come prepared, that is having gym clothes and shoes, a water bottle, a lock to keep all their things away and earphones are optional for listening to music. Having a plan is very helpful, because you will have something to rely on and you will never be lost in your workout. You need to make sure you eat before your workout, because you need plenty of energy for a successful workout, do not workout with an empty stomach! Then, your daily meals should change, what you eat definitely affects your workouts. Going on a diet from high calorie foods would be a good change. Also, eating foods that contain protein after a workout is very helpful, because they build and repair tissues of the body. In my opinion, protein bars and protein shakes are both very delicious, and they help you in ways that other foods or drinks can't.
Until next time!
